I’m sorry, but whenever I see this commercial, I can’t help but chuckle, at least a little bit.
I didn’t know that mimes could be so hilarious! Why don’t you take a look and let me know what you think!

Now, where else can you pick up some groceries and party at the same time? I don’t know of too many places, but I do know of Puckett’s Grocery and Restaurant. You can always get great live music and pretty decent food when you enter Puckett’s in the evening. Tonight they are having a Creole Shrimp Boil, and it’s free to get in, starting tonight at 6 pm.
Do you frequent Puckett’s?
Are $200 jeans really worth it?

Come on now, can you really tell the difference between ‘cheap’ jeans and expensive ones? I don’t think so. In some cases, the only way that you can really tell the difference is because of the logo stitched in the side.
With the money that you people invest in jeans, a host of questions pop up: Will they last longer than cheaper jeans, Do they fit better?, Do they really look that much better? The answer to these questions can be yes and no. Sure, more expensive jeans may last longer through washes, but you can solve that easily: try not to wash denim as much. I don’t believe in spending $200 on jeans, so I have some tips that make my $20, $30 jeans look just like True Religion.
- Don’t wash denim jeans; it makes them last longer
- Buy straight leg jeans in a dark blue wash; it makes them look more expensive
- Only wash your jeans in cold water
- Wash jeans inside out
If you follow these tips, your $9.50 jeans will look like $95.
Do you or would you pay this much for jeans?
Wait, is that dog driving?

Honestly. I’ve seen a dog driving. Of course, his feet didn’t reach the pedals, but his little paws sure reached the steering wheel. And his owner, who’s lap he was sitting in, didn’t seem fazed at all. Needless to say, I politely merged myself two lanes over; no offense Fido, but I’m not trusting a pet behind the wheel. I barely trust some humans, lol.
There have been some crazy things that people have reported seeing while driving. These sights are anything from a woman eating a bowl of soup while driving, to sewing and knitting (which takes two hands by the way), to getting dressed in the car. It’s amazing that some people still have their licenses!
What crazy things have you seen while driving?
Save Hundreds of Dollars a Year on Laundry
Have you ever thought about steam cleaning your clothes at home? This will cut down on your use of energy and chemicals that come from washing.
Even though it may make you feel better to think this way, dry cleaning does not increase the lifespan of a garment. The most that it increases is a hole in your wallet. So if you have woolen suits or any other garment that says ‘dry clean only’, you may want to weigh your options, starting with steam cleaning.
LG’s steam wash and dry system uses less water than even a front-loading laundry machine. These types of cleaners are great for pressing slacks and other items you want looking their best.
What other festival has their own ice cream flavor?
None! That’s what makes the Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival held in Manchester, Tenn. special. Ben & Jerry’s has released it’s newest flavor, the Bonnaroo Buzz. Catchy, no?
P.S. This year’s camping and music fest is from June 10 to 13th.
The new flavor is comprised of light coffee and malt ice creams with whiskey-caramel swirls and English toffee pieces. Sounds just like something someone would get out of a music festival: coffee to keep you amped, whiskey to calm you down, caramel swirls for the rush, and toffee pieces because, well, who doesn’t like toffee?
This new flavor will debut May 4th, worldwide, and will also be sold at this years Bonnaroo.
What’s your favorite Ben & Jerry’s flavor?
Loveless Café! It doesn’t get any better!

Who hasn’t been to Loveless Café? Better yet, who can say that they’re from Nashville, and haven’t even HEARD of those infamous, flaky, fluffy biscuits with the homemade jam?! I’m getting hungry just thinking about it! You know what, just give me a basket of those for my birthday and I’ll be happy.
Whenever I’m in the area, I make sure to stop by. If I’m going for breakfast, (which is served all day), I’ll get the Southern Omelet. But if I’m going for lunch or dinner, I can’t resist the southern fried catfish! What can I say? I’m a southern girl.
I’m also a slim, girl, but I can polish off a basket of biscuits by myself.
What do you think? What Loveless Café stories do you have to share?
3 Egg-cellent Suggestions!
Everyone knows that Earth Day is in April. Because of this, many people have jumped onto the going green bandwagon. So for those late comers to the going green campaign, I have some ‘egg-cellent’ suggestions for you!
I never knew that there were so many uses for egg shells. But apparently I was mistaken. Check these out:
Reuse egg shells as a drain cleaner: Try keeping some egg shells in your kitchen sink strainer. They trap additional solids, and they gradually break up and help to naturally clean your pipes on their way down the drain. (Bet you didn’t know that one! I know I sure didn’t…)
Household abrasives: Shake up crushed eggshells and a little soapy water to scour hard-to-clean items like thermoses and vases. Crushed eggshells can also be used as a nontoxic abrasive on pots and pans.
Pots for seedlings: I remember back in elementary school where we grew plants in egg shells.
Though I doubt this is something that serious gardeners would enjoy, it’s still fun!
What do you think of these tips? Do you have anything to add?
New Poll!

Hey South Wind! There’s a new poll up! “What’s your favorite room in your apartment?” I’ve already voted. My living room is my favorite.
Cupcake Mania!
Let me start by saying that I have a supreme sweet tooth, and that does me more harm than good most days.
I’ve never been much of a candy person, but cookies and cupcakes? There are no words to explain the feelings of happiness that they give to me! Maybe it’s the convenience of the treats that make me love them so much, or the fact that there’s so much flavor packed into one tiny bite. I’ve stopped trying to figure it out long ago.
This being said, it seems like as of late there has been a recent cupcake craze. People have been on the hunt to find the most creative, most delicious, most unique cupcakes in existence. They’ve found some pretty good ones, and some pretty expensive ones as well. I’m sorry, I just can’t find myself paying $8 for ONE cupcake. I don’t care how elaborate the icing is. Luckily for you South Wind, you don’t have to travel to Paris to get a gourmet style cupcake. Go to Gigi’s. You may want to go when you’re in Nashville however, because it’s like a 22 minute drive from South Wind. Granted, her cupcakes are $3 a piece, but they are so intricately made and filled with so much love that the price is really a steal.
Just looking at some of the pictures of her cupcakes are enough to set my heart ablaze.
But don’t just take my word for it, check it out for yourself. (And try the Southern Comfort. It puts me right at home!)
Have you ever had any of Gigi’s cupcakes?
